Game Over! The rocky ride through Sunwell finally came to it's climax as we clashed sword, stave and glaive with the top half of a demon standing in a well.
In a nice change of pace from M'uru, we saw good progress from the start. A few nights of wiping, tactical tweaks, disconnects and a plethora of hilarious wipes later, Tuesday saw a gut-wrenching 1% attempt which we were unable to better that night. Further annoying single digit attempts followed on Thursday, giving us 3 days to mentally prepare for the final hurdle. Sure enough, Sunday's 4th try of the night saw him go down in blazing glory in a fantastic attempt with only 3-4 dead by the end. A glorious performance all round and ultimately a realm second, Alliance first kill. Thus with it concludes 4 months and 5 days of fantastic raiding in the best instance WoW has ever seen. It's been a pleasure, and with our eyes now firmly set on the snowy plains of Northrend, we'll be seeing you again soon!

Every guild has itīs challenging moments with bosses. For us, C'Thun was one, The four horsemen another.
When you see an encounter that looks like Blizzard really just want to make you cry you have to remember that it is all about breaking it down into small pieces that has to work together in the end. Like a machinery.
If the encounter with M'uru is a machinery then we were suppose to be the parts.
After more then 2 months of both good and bad nights with joy and anger, hope and dispair the bolts finally fit.
I am happy to be going to the Netherlands this weekend. To tighten the bolts further with people from the (European) Union.

Another good encounter designed to test a guild's strength in depth. We made some great early progress on this encounter, only to have a couple of ninja migrating healers turn this into a real battle :)
Alt Shamans, alt paladins, respecced feral druids, friends, ex-members (their alts) were all brought in at various times. Even brave Aapjee briefly respecced resto and amazed us all with his chain healing mastery in his T6 Elemental gear. Why would anyone need healing gear with skills like that?
Several strategies were tried, pretty pictures were drawn on the forums and positions/raid balance were changed across the nights. We went from low melee, to no melee to heavy melee!
We'd already spent 4 nights killing Grand Warlock Alythess before we got pissed off with Lady Sacrolash and decided that it was THAT bitch who needed a slapdown the most. Some alt warrior was drafted in to handle this, and we started seeing some good attempts a couple of hours later, with near kills that night and the following.
So there we were... the last day before reset with some average tries on him. I did not quite expect what I was about to witness with the second attempt of the night. 1%
Now we got it. After concluding that this was bad for the heart, we decided it would be best to kill it so we could calm down a bit.
Off we went. Things started to look quite good most of the time, with no problem during the first minutes. Then problems came. People died of the lack of dispelling, mind controls etc.
We were focused and gave it all. Unfortunately I died during the kill and was really scared for a 1% wipe again due to my absence.
Despite me and I think two other deaths, the kill was really clean.
Really nice guys. Now we just need the gates to open so we can get some twin action.
Last week we did not make it to the finish line in time.. This week we did.

Week one of Sunwell raiding finished, and we got stuck on the second boss of the instance - Brutallus. Getting him down to below 10% a few times, with a 4% best made us believe we really had it, but it just wasn't happening. Seeing multiple guilds take him down on Tuesday made it extra harsh not being able to land that final blow. However, Wednesday came, and with that the new raiding week.
Burning through Kalecgos for some new shinies gave us a full week of wiping on Brutallus to get a kill. Luckily, all numbercrunching and theorycrafting paid off, and we took the bastard down on the same night in one of the most exciting zergdowns (SHIT FERALIS DOWN, NUKE IT NUKE IT TURN IT AAAAAAHHHH DOTS MORE DOTS YEEEEEEEEES) I have experienced in this game. Crazy fight, crazy performance, and certainly not good for the heart.

Sunwell progression started out a little slow. Two days of hard testing before we finally nailed him.
The dragon went down really fast so dps was not the problem. But it was the big mess that made the fight hard. In and out of portals, curses in the wrong realm. Healers burning their mana to keep cursed people up aswell as the tanks switching in and out of the realms.
Maby focus the decursing on the people that are supposed to go back to the dragon realm? Or just mass decurse and hope for the best?
After a few warmups it happend.
Damon at 1%. Dynea shieldwalled. Nuke it!!! Take it down, we got it now... Adrenaline pumping, everyone at their max performance.
Dragon dies, demon dies. Everyone cheers.
I never really had the time to watch the boss hp myself and was really glad when I heared that final shout about pushing it down. Then I knew we would make it. Really good work everyone!!

More than two months ago Illidan was defeated for the very first time by our swords, axes and wands. Since then, just about every guild on Outland that killed the bastard collected a Warglaive, but Union and weapons don't seem to get along very well. So we're running the last BT of the year 2007, expecting another round of double protector and other crap. But as you can imagine, I wouldn't write up a news post if that happened, so here's what went down, picturized!
Congrats to Kysera (previously known as Frozensoul) on obtaining our first Warglaive of Azzinoth, dropping a fat 258 DKP on the table. Let's hope the first run of the new year will bring your mainhand!
And with that, Union exits 2007 in style.
Union wishes you all the best for 2008, including many epics, legendaries, server firsts-seconds and thirds or beyond, new challenges and most importantly, a lot of fun.

It's been over a month since we first killed Illidari Council. What have we been up to? Well, unfortunately we didn't have enough time to do decent attempts on Illidan as we were busy with attuning new people.
Anyways, enough with the lame excuses, we had some really good tries yesterday, so we were expecting a kill here.
Unfortunately at our first "warmup" attempt Hedera aka Sir Diealot managed to die from the beam in phase2. Unlike what we expected Xaneda didn't call it a wipe just yet, so we continued with this doomed attempt. By the time we were well in phase3 we already had ~5 deaths. It didn't go all that badly though so we kept on going, even after Xan pulled aggro on a Souldrain and Illidan healed for 10% hp. And somehow everything just worked out, even with stupid deaths and the big regeneration of Illidan...
Yes, that's right, we killed him on our first attempt this night :)
Congratulations to everyone, really good job, after having cleared Mt Hyjal last friday, and a oneshot on Illidan tonight, the week can't go wrong.
See you all next weekend at the guild meeting where we can celebrate this :D.

Even though we had some mass disconnects we still got the Council to 36% yesterday on our first evening of attempts. With renewed hope we entered the Black Temple this night only to loose all that hope in the first couple of tries. Didn't we learn anything from the night before? People making silly mistakes (*cough* mainly Hedera *cough*, just kidding, you know I love you) and I've seen about any possible wipe happen in those attempts. Shalenden's pet nearly topped Hedera's collection of wipes by running straight into the Council after being ressed (why resurrect a pet if the hunter is still dead, damn it?)
After reclearing trash people somehow refocused and we killed them straight away!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Illidan next week or the week after, would be great!
Good job everyone, even though Infamous took the server first on Illidan (Congratulations to the rare Infamous member who reads this website), it'll still be a great achievement to get the alliance second.

We had some decent attempts yesterday and we really aimed for a kill this week. After having a nice attempt of 16% on phase3 we did another attempt with good faith (Phase1 gets old so fast, was nearly Kael'Thas all over again) and took him down nice and swiftly!
It's a hard and maybe annoying boss, but in my opinion it's very nicely designed and fun fight! :)

Wow, just wow, when I was playing Warcraft lll and came to the Battle of Mount Hyjal stage, I was excited and everything. When I came to the last stage, to Archimonde himself, this movie appeared and I saw Archimonde got terminated by some small whisps.
Today, Wednesday 14/8, I did not see any small whisps killing him, I saw filthy gnomes, sexy dwarfes, ugly nightelves, gay humans and fat draenei's wiping over and over again, they got burned by the fire, thrown up the air and got eliminated by curses. Tuesday early, a raid of 25 well armed soldiers from all sources of Azeroth united under the banner of the Alliance strode into the Caverns of Time to defend the Orc Village during the Battle for Mount Hyjal. They are known as Union. Thrall and his soldiers were happy to meet our valiant fighters, for they made the difference before when Kazrogal assaulted the encampment...

After dropping Gorefiend once again, we decided to pay mr. Bloodboil a visit (partially because other options were rather impossible, but whatever). In just a few tries we went from wiping on the pull (hi Shal!) to a solid kill, bringing our total to 5 bosses down in the Black Temple! Next up in there, we'll have the Reliquary, and nightmares of Broodlord trash are returning already...
Hopefully we'll get Azgalor down tomorrow, and in that case, you'll read it here again. So stay tuned!

A new and improved website should increase the traffic for interested people quite alot. The news page will keep track of new kills and important guild news or changes. Our roster and progress page should now be running semi-automaticly and will be very easy to administrate. We also hope to fill up the Media page with some nice video's from the past and upcoming video's covering PvE kills.
We will keep trying to improve the new website as we speak, but as for now we are quite pleased with the result!
